As I look back over my life and consider the things that I enjoy most, I am wired for all things related to event planning.
Here's why
Like many kids, I made custom greeting cards, however, I not only made custom cards, I designed them! I crafted them with fine detailed tailored especially for the receipient. Ask my friend Rachel Moore. Hers was one of my finest!
Fast forward to my teenage years... I helped my mother with the planning of our annual Community Fair. I set up the registration table. I solicited participation. And I was the one who came up with designs to attach to each ink pen so that volunteers would not walk away with them after they signed up.
In college I helped friends host wine tastings, cookouts, and holiday parties.
After graduate school in May, even before returning home from school, I dropped my stuff off at home and got on a plane heading to Pennsylvania where I had the good fortune of setting up and operating golf tournaments for the American Junior Golfers Association all summer long.
Arena Operations Manager with the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission would be the next big step on my list!
